Important Updates

Studying abroad requires accepted students to complete a number of forms and documents which covers a gamut of topics. If you have any questions about completing any of these documents or need the password for the "secure" documents, please do not hesitate to contact IILE staff at ihre@bard.edu or 845.758.7081.

Handbook

• The 2008 IHRE handbook can be found here.   You are responsible for reading the handbook and familiarizing yourself with the policies and guidelines.  You will also find a lot of very useful information!  You will receive a "hard copy" of the handbook when you come to orientation.  (Email me for the password!)

Forms

Once you have been accepted, you will receive access to and be asked to complete the following password-protected forms:

• Participant Verification Form
• Disability Registration Form (if applicable)
• Emergency Contact Information Form
• Statement of Responsibility and Assumption of Risk Form
• Release of Claims and Medical Treatment Authorization
• Transcript Request Form
• Wits Occasional student application and instructions
• A personal bio. Instructions are here.
• Internship information (will be available in March), instructions and sample CV. 

Required Readings :

• There are two required book for the orientation:
  • "Country of My Skull" by Antjie Krog (fiction)
  • " I Write What I Like” by Steven Bantu Biko (non-fiction)
• Please read these books BEFORE you arrive at Bard for orientation
