Admissions

General Admissions Information

IHRE welcomes students from North America, South Africa, and students from institutions elsewhere around the world.  Admissions procedures vary depending on where students are currently enrolled in school.  Please be sure to follow the appropriate guidelines for your situation.

Students from North American Institutions

All students currently enrolled at a college or university in North America, irregardless of their country of origin, must apply and enroll in the IHRE program via Bard College.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate students at North American colleges and universities who are in good academic and behavioral standing are invited to apply.  Applicants are typically second-, third-, and fourth-year students.  Under certain circumstances, independent students and recent graduates may also be eligible to apply.

Students with a commitment to social justice and/or a history of academic or personal involvement with human rights issues are particularly encouraged to apply.  At the same time, we encourage students of all backgrounds to apply.  No previous study of human rights is required.

Application Deadline

Our application deadlines are as follows:

March 1st Fall Semester
October 15th Spring Semester

Applications are process on a rolling basis  and must be completed and received by the application deadline.

As space is limited we encourage students to apply in advance of our deadlines.
