Pre-Departure Workshop & Orientation

Prior to arriving in South Africa, students traveling from North American institutions will meet at Bard College for a pre-departure workshop.  Topics discussed will include program goals and expectations, cultural adjustment to South Africa and initial discussions related to South Africa's history.  Students will then travel with Bard staff on a group flight to Johannesburg.

Upon arrival in Johannesburg, students from North American institutions will receive a comprehensive orientation at Wits, including an overview of academics at Wits, safety and health, student life, etc.
